| Criminal Records Bureau
Before joining the Bromley
School Run scheme you will need to be checked through the Criminal Records
Bureau.
The CRB - an executive agency of the Home Office - was set up to help
organisations make safer recruitment decisions. By providing wider access
to criminal record information, the CRB helps the public, private and
voluntary sectors identify candidates who may be unsuitable for certain
work, especially that involving contact with children or other vulnerable
members of society.
The CRB helps to protect the public through a new service called Disclosure
which provides a regulated 'one stop' service for England and Wales offering
access to records held by the police, together with those held by the
Department of Health (DH) and the Department for Education and Skills
(DfES).
To be checked through the CRB you should Register
and then follow the instructions.
For more information about the Criminal Records Bureau and the Disclosure
Application form, please go to www.crb.gov.uk
or call the CRB helpline on 0870 90 90 844.
